I’m a strong advocate for privacy, and your confidentiality is of the highest importance to me.
I neither can nor wish to identify you through site analytics.
Site analytics are important for managing a website like this. When I seek collaborations with brands, they need information about my site’s traffic and audience demographics to make informed decisions.
In my quest to reduce reliance on Google, I switched from Google Analytics to the privacy-focused Matomo Analytics in 2023. This transition gives me complete ownership of the data, as it’s stored on my own server rather than Google’s.
Matomo Analytics also allows me to anonymize your IP address, so I don’t have access to your full IP and cannot identify you. Not that I would ever want to. Audience demographics are collected and presented to affiliates only in aggregated form.
This site is free from Google services.
As of December 2023, this website no longer uses Google services like Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Google Tag Manager. While Google provides numerous benefits to website owners, I found the privacy concerns outweighed these advantages.
I’ve replaced Google Analytics with Matomo Analytics for better privacy, I have also removed Google Ads as a monetisation method.
Affiliate Tracking
Another way your activity on this site may be tracked is through affiliate platforms I work with. When you read a review and decide to purchase a product via one of my links, I may earn a small commission for the referral.
Since there are no automated ads on this website, this affiliate income is a key way to support the site without any extra cost to you. When you click on a link within a review, the affiliate platform recognizes that the referral came from my site. However, no personal information is exchanged that could identify you, apart from what you provide during the purchase on the merchant’s site.
The data transferred varies by affiliate platform and includes details like what was bought and the total spent, which is used to calculate commissions. Rest assured, this information does not include any personal details that could reveal your identity. I have no interest in identifying who purchased five sets of Sharge power banks at one go, and my focus remains on providing valuable content.
Third-party tracking
If you click on a link that directs you to another website, they may track your activity, and I have no control over that. Similarly, while I strive to partner with reputable third-party services, I cannot control how they track you.
If you reach out to me, I will have access to your information. Duh.
The only other instances where I have access to your data are when you voluntarily provide it, such as by emailing me, messaging me on Reddit or Instagram, or leaving a comment on a muse with your real information. This data isn’t compiled into a list, but it will be visible to me through the services you use to contact me.
